West Houston’s already packed dining corridor is about to get another heavy hitter. Truluck's, the upscale seafood-and-steakhouse chain born in Houston, is planning a third Houston-area outpost in the Town & Country/CityCentre retail district, according to local reporting and company coverage. The move would drop another white-tablecloth seafood option into one of the city’s busiest restaurant stretches.
As reported by the Houston Business Journal, Truluck’s has been making several multimillion-dollar bets around the Houston area and is now eyeing a Town & Country site near CityCentre for its next location. The Business Journal noted the company has recently invested in renovations at other Houston restaurants as part of that push. Details about a specific suite or exact opening date were not included in the previewed report.
Truluck’s operating partner Chris Davis told Community Impact that the Town & Country restaurant "is planned to open this year" and emphasized that "the core identity is going to be the ocean's finest seafood." Davis' comments came as the brand wrapped a recent refresh at its Woodlands location and signaled continued investment in the market.
Why CityCentre/Town & Country?
CityCentre is a dense mixed-use neighborhood built on the former Town & Country mall site and is home to dozens of shops, hotels and restaurants that keep foot traffic flowing day and night. As listed in CityCentre’s directory, the district’s blend of retail, offices and hotels has turned it into an attractive landing spot for destination dining concepts looking to catch both office crowds and special-occasion diners.
Truluck's Local Footprint
Founded in Houston in 1992 and best known for its Florida stone crab program, Truluck’s lists its Galleria flagship at 5350 Westheimer and operates locations beyond Texas, per the company’s site Truluck's. The chain has already been refreshing its Houston-area restaurants and is using renovated dining rooms and expanded menus to court repeat business.
The addition will intensify competition among upscale seafood-and-steakhouse concepts on the Westside, where options such as Eddie V’s and other white-tablecloth restaurants already vie for dinner crowds. Local dining roundups note that demand for premium seafood remains strong in Houston and could help Truluck’s hold its own as it opens the new spot, per Houston.
Neither the restaurant nor CityCentre managers have announced a firm opening date, but local coverage says the Town & Country location is expected this year, per Community Impact. Hoodline will monitor public records, leasing notices and local reporting for confirmations and a more specific timeline.
