A Warm Springs man has been sentenced to 50 months in federal prison and 10 years of probation after admitting he sexually abused two children during a sleepover at his home on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. The punishment, handed down Wednesday, follows a guilty plea entered earlier this year in Portland federal court.
According to KPTV, 34-year-old Desmond Ray Florez sexually abused the two victims on April 13, 2025. A federal grand jury in Portland indicted Florez on July 1, 2025, and he pleaded guilty on Feb. 19, 2026. KPTV reports he was sentenced Wednesday to 50 months in federal prison, to be followed by 10 years of probation.
Court Calendar Confirms Portland Sentencing
The case appears on the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon calendar under case number 3:25-cr-00282-AB, confirming that sentencing was set for this week in Portland. The court’s public calendar lists the hearing and the judge assigned to the matter; see the court calendar.
Charges, Alleged Prior Abuse And Legal Outcome
Court filings show Florez pleaded guilty to sexual abuse of a minor and sexually abusive contact. Investigators told authorities he had previously sexually abused one of the victims about four years earlier, according to KPTV. The federal prosecution has now concluded with the Portland sentence; the court-ordered prison term will be followed by supervised release and any additional obligations set out in the final judgment.
