One Charlotte-area resident is about to turn a $100 raffle ticket into the kind of prize you usually only see on HGTV. Last night, viewers will find out who wins this year’s St. Jude Dream Home, a three-bedroom, three-bath house built near Waxhaw and valued at about $695,000. Channel 9 is set to draw the lucky ticket during a special 7 p.m. broadcast, wrapping up weeks of open houses, bonus drawings and plenty of wishful thinking.
What’s at Stake
The 2026 Dream Home sits in Piper Meadows at 1104 Piper Meadows Drive in Waxhaw and clocks in at roughly 3,000 square feet, with custom arches, reading nooks, luxury quartz counters and a covered back porch, according to WSOC-TV. The station notes the finished build is valued near $695,000 and that the drawing for the house and other prizes will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Prizes and How the Raffle Helps St. Jude
The house is the headliner, but it is not the only thing on the line. The giveaway includes several bonus prizes, including a $2,500 Publix gift card, a CMA Awards flyaway courtesy of 96.9 The Kat, a 2026 Toyota Corolla LE, a $5,000 Belk gift card and a $10,000 Ashley shopping spree for open-house visitors, per St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude emphasizes that proceeds support its mission and that families never receive bills for treatment, travel, housing or food.
Ticket Sales and Local Impact
Channel 9 capped ticket sales at 27,000, a total organizers estimated would raise about $2.7 million for St. Jude, and those tickets went fast, WSOC-TV reported. Local builders and vendors donated materials or labor for the project, which organizers say helped maximize the funds that go directly to patient care.
Open Houses and Local Partners
Open-house tours ran from May 16 through June 14, and attendees who registered at the showings were eligible for the $10,000 Ashley shopping spree, per St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Four Oaks Builders led the construction and dozens of subcontractors and suppliers donated time or materials, local organizers said as the build wrapped up.
The live drawing is a reminder of how volunteers and local businesses can turn a single house into a major gift for pediatric care. Tune in to Channel 9 at 7 p.m. Wednesday to see who wins and how the campaign’s proceeds will be put to work.
