One page in the notebook reportedly read, “2026 May 30 12:15 a.m. homeless woman by the tracks stabbed repeatedly.” The affidavit also describes a folded note found in the boy’s pocket that allegedly said, “i killed a woman by the tracks and set all the fires,” signed “the shadow killer.” As reported by NewsRadio 560 KPQ, police say they also recovered a bag of fire-starting materials that investigators are testing for possible links to several recent large-scale fires toward Malaga.

Wenatchee Police say the juvenile, who local reporting identifies as 13 years old, was detained at the Wenatchee Public Library after officers spotted him near Orondo Avenue and Washington Street. Surveillance video reportedly showed someone matching his description near the crime scene around midnight, and the boy’s father told officers his son had gone out on a bike ride that night. The youth was booked on a first-degree murder charge, according to KIRO 7.
