Sin Yolanda, the Mexico-born cantina that first planted its U.S. flag on San Antonio’s River Walk, is bringing its daytime-to-late-night attitude to Houston. The new outpost on Washington Avenue opens Thursday with a grand-opening World Cup watch party, complete with extra screens, tacos, and a cocktail-fueled, party-style atmosphere along a corridor already known for its nightlife.
Food and cocktails
Expect tacos, quesadillas, queso, and specialty cocktails, plus a full bar, according to Community Impact. The menu leans into shareable plates that can work for a casual daytime lunch and then slide straight into a louder, music-driven evening crowd. That mix of food, drinks, and late-night energy is the core of what Sin Yolanda is pitching to Houston.
From the River Walk to Houston
The company’s U.S. expansion started on San Antonio’s River Walk in December 2025, and Sin Yolanda has since signaled plans for more Texas openings, MySA reported. The San Antonio debut was billed as a daytime-food, nighttime-cantina model, a formula the brand has been replicating as it grows. Owners have said Texas became a priority market after the River Walk launch.
Hours, address and reservations
Per OpenTable, the Houston location sits at 4901 Washington Ave and is listed with reservations and posted hours that run late into the night. The OpenTable entry also links out to the restaurant’s site and menu, and the venue appears to be taking bookings as it opens. Phone and reservation details are available directly on the OpenTable page.
Washington Avenue context
Washington Avenue has been a hot spot for new concepts and reworked nightlife spaces, and developers have flagged 4901 Washington Ave as an active restaurant and retail address. Kagan Realty previously referenced Bottled Blonde at that location in its developer materials, highlighting how quickly the corridor turns over as spots open, close, and reinvent themselves. Sin Yolanda is the latest name to slide into that rotation.
Opening night
Community Impact reports that the restaurant will host a World Cup watch party Thursday night as part of its grand-opening festivities. Expect a packed room, plenty of specialty cocktails, and a playlist-driven vibe as the cantina settles in for its first weekend on Washington.
