According to Hawaii News Now, the Maui Police Department says the disturbance began at about 10 p.m. on July 17, with officers locating multiple parties near the pool at 50 Nohea Kai Drive. Investigators told reporters that seven victims, all visitors from California and between 17 and 62 years old, reported being assaulted by a large group of juveniles. Witnesses said chairs were thrown and several people had visible injuries. Medical personnel responded and treated some people at the scene, and police say the Criminal Investigations Division is handling the probe.
