Aliʻi Coffee Co., the local roastery known for its signature cold brews and inventive lattes, has quietly rolled out a new spot at Ala Moana Center. The move comes on the heels of recent closures at the company’s Ward Centre and downtown Honolulu shops, but management says the Ala Moana location sticks with the same menu and continues to roast its own beans. Customers will also see longer hours at the mall café compared with the shorter daytime schedules at the brand’s former kiosks.
The Ala Moana café sits on the ocean side of the mall’s lower level next to the food-court entrance. The company lists the address as 1450 Ala Moana Blvd., Ste. 1069, and says the shop is open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to the Aliʻi Coffee Co. website. That schedule stretches service well past the brand’s prior afternoon closings.
Pacific Business News reported the Ala Moana shop opened on July 1, a day after the business closed its Ward Centre location on June 27. The outlet said the move was meant to keep the neighborhood’s loyal customers close by.
What to Expect at Ala Moana
Co‑founder James Webb told Aloha State Daily, “We got the keys (to the new space) on June 15; it happened really quick.” The outlet reports the menu is unchanged and that Aliʻi still roasts its own coffee, with bestsellers like The King (about $6–$6.75) and specialty lattes such as The Queen and the taro ube (roughly $7.25–$7.75). Food options include breakfast and lunch items such as avocado toast ($15) and a $16 breakfast burrito. Webb also told the paper the company plans a Monsarrat Avenue location next month and a central Oʻahu outpost in Waipio in 2027.
Why Ala Moana?
Ala Moana Center is one of the island’s largest open-air shopping centers and offers consistent foot traffic and longer operating hours, a match for Aliʻi’s expanded schedule, according to the Ala Moana Center. Owners said finding a spot close to their former Ward Centre customers was a priority, and relocating into the mall keeps many regulars within a short walk or drive, Pacific Business News reported.
