The music has stopped at The Hub, the open-air food hall and festival-style entertainment venue at The Farm in Allen. Founder Brad Zeitlin confirmed the Allen location has closed after roughly two years in operation. The venue opened in 2022 and drew more than half a million visitors, but management says the local spending just did not add up enough to keep the concept going. Company leaders say another group has plans for the space, though no timetable or operator has been named.
Owner: 'Total spend' wasn't sufficient
In an email to Community Impact, Zeitlin said, "The total spend in the submarket is not adequate to support the current concept, causing the challenges we faced." He also thanked the over half a million people who came to share time with us, according to the outlet.
What was inside The Hub
The Hub’s lineup featured quick-service stalls and bars turning out tacos, chicken fingers, burgers, fries, margaritas and beer at 1289 Johnson Road. The venue also leaned heavily into regular programming, with live music, movie nights and large sports watch parties billed as core attractions, according to The Hub. It marketed itself as a family-friendly, dog-friendly festival spot built to host daily events and private parties.

When it debuted, The Hub was pitched as a roughly 2.77-acre festival-style anchor within The Farm in Allen, with about 23,000 square feet of restaurant space built into a broader mix of homes, offices and entertainment designed to pull in weekend crowds. According to Community Impact, Zeitlin said another group already has plans for the location, but no additional information is available yet. For now, neighbors and regulars will be watching for updates from The Hub, JaRyCo Development or any future operators as The Farm continues its buildout.
