A routine traffic stop turned into a rolling spectacle across the San Gabriel Valley on Tuesday night, ending with a driver ditching a truck and sprinting off into the dark near Eagle Rock.
According to NBC Los Angeles, Arcadia police tried to pull the driver over shortly after 7 p.m. When the driver failed to yield, officers initiated a pursuit that wound through Pasadena surface streets before moving onto the eastbound 134 Freeway.
Truck Ditched Near Vallejo Drive And Wilson Terrace
The rolling drama came to a halt near the intersection of Vallejo Drive and Wilson Terrace, where the driver stopped, abandoned the truck and took off on foot. The spot sits in the Glendale area near Eagle Rock, just north of the 134.
The initial report did not identify the driver or indicate whether anyone had been taken into custody. Investigators also had yet to share why officers first attempted the traffic stop, whether the truck was stolen, or if there were any injuries, with the case still unfolding.
