
A warehouse used by a logging company went up in flames Wednesday morning right next to Arlington Municipal Airport, sending a thick column of black smoke into the sky and pulling in fire crews from across the area. Video shared on local outlets shows flames ripping through the building while firefighters battle the blaze and work to keep it from jumping to nearby structures. Officials did not immediately release a cause or estimate the damage.
According to KIRO 7, the station posted raw video of the fire on July 22 that shows crews attacking the flames from outside the structure. The footage captures a churning column of dark smoke visible for miles and multiple engine companies crowded around the scene.

The fire broke out right alongside Arlington Municipal Airport, a small general-aviation field north of Everett. The airport’s public pages describe it as a hub for private pilots and flight operations. Early Wednesday it was still unclear whether any flight activity had been disrupted by the smoke or emergency response.
Firefighting Response
Firefighters from Arlington and neighboring districts converged on the warehouse, stretching hose lines and working to prevent the flames from spreading to other nearby buildings, according to KIRO 7. There were no immediate reports of injuries, and crews stayed on scene into the afternoon for continued suppression work and overhaul inside the damaged structure.

Industrial-fire analysts note that warehouses storing logs, lumber or other wood products carry an unusually heavy fire load and can generate dense, toxic smoke that complicates firefighting tactics, as outlined by Avian.
