A 33-year-old man was attacked inside an Astoria location on July 15, police say, when three people approached him during a dispute and turned the confrontation into a jewelry robbery. Two suspects allegedly tore a necklace and bracelet from the victim after the group punched and kicked him, and investigators are now asking the public to help identify them.
The incident happened around 6:09 p.m. in the 114th Precinct, according to a wanted bulletin posted by NYPD Crime Stoppers on Wednesday. The alert says one person removed the necklace while another took the bracelet, but it does not identify the three individuals or announce any arrests.
Police Ask Astoria Neighbors For Information
The public appeal came two weeks after the reported attack, with police still seeking a lead on the group. Anyone who recognizes the people shown in the Crime Stoppers alert or has information about the confrontation is being asked to contact investigators anonymously.
Tips Could Bring A Reward
The NYPD says Crime Stoppers tips can be submitted anonymously, and information leading to an arrest and indictment of a violent felon may qualify for a reward of up to $3,500, according to the department’s Crime Stoppers program. Tips can be called in to 800-577-TIPS, or submitted through the program’s online tip system.
No motive or additional details about the dispute were included in the public alert. The investigation remains open as police work to determine who was involved in the July 15 robbery.
