Auburndale police have arrested Aurora Monique Cochran in connection with the April 5 killing of an 85-year-old resident, the department announced yesterday, saying the homicide investigation is still very much active as detectives chase down leads.
In a June 30 news release, the department said Cochran (DOB: 09/06/1985) was taken into custody and charged with accessory to murder after the fact, robbery without a firearm and providing false information to law enforcement, according to the Auburndale Police Department. Investigators said they developed new information during the ongoing probe that pointed to Cochran, but they did not disclose additional details about the circumstances of the killing.
Arrest Comes Months After Initial Homicide Call
The charges land nearly three months after officers were first called to a mobile-home park on April 5, as reported by Tampa Bay 28. That outlet noted authorities have not released information about the cause of death or a potential motive and that the case remains under active investigation.

In its initial April news release, the department said officers responded April 5 to the Lake Blue Mobile Home Park and later identified the victim as William Thomas Martin (DOB: 07/02/1940), according to the Auburndale Police Department. At that time, detectives said they were pursuing multiple leads as they worked the case.
