The first meaningful break in the pattern may arrive Saturday night, when a weak boundary could bring a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 7 p.m. The forecast calls for a slight chance of rain before 7 a.m. Sunday, August 2, followed by mostly sunny skies and a high near 99.

Monday, August 3, is forecast to reach 100 degrees, followed by highs near 99 on Tuesday and Wednesday. Rain chances remain low after Sunday, and the area is expected to continue facing Moderate to Major heat risk each afternoon.
