Greenville police are investigating a grim scene on North Seventh Street after a man was found dead with apparent traumatic injuries inside a backyard shed on Saturday morning.
Officers were called around 9:10 a.m. on July 25 to a report of an unresponsive person at a home in the 200 block of North Seventh Street. When they arrived, they found the victim in a shed behind the residence, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities later identified him as Harold Charles. Detectives have classified the case as a homicide and say the investigation remains active. According to the Washington County Tax Assessor's office, the Assessor "lists and places a value on all real estate within the county and also on personal property," indicating parcel ownership and valuation records are maintained at the county level.
