A quiet stretch of Barnes Drive turned into a crime scene Monday when investigators with the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office Internet Crimes Against Children unit executed a search warrant at a home in the 1400 block, officials said. Robert "Bobby" Castillo was taken into custody, booked into the Guadalupe County Adult Detention Center and is facing a charge of possession or promotion of child pornography. Deputies said the investigation remains active while technicians forensically examine several seized devices.
In a statement to KENS5, the sheriff's office said the case began when the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children forwarded a cybertip to local detectives. Sheriff Joshua Ray told the station, "We have made an ongoing commitment to protecting the children in our county," and the office urged anyone with information about possible exploitation to reach out to its ICAC unit.

The CyberTipline run by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children gathers reports of suspected online child exploitation and then routes actionable tips to the appropriate law enforcement agency. State prosecutors charged Castillo under Texas law for possession or promotion of child pornography, an offense defined in Texas Penal Code Section 43.26.
