An early morning mystery along an east Houston bayou has homicide detectives on the case after a person was found unconscious near the water Monday. Houston police say officers were dispatched around 7:10 a.m. to the 7200 block of J.W. Peavy Drive, where the individual was located along the edge of the bayou near 7220 J.W. Peavy Drive. Homicide investigators were called out, and officials say it is still too early to tell exactly what happened.
The Houston Police Department told Click2Houston that patrol officers responded to a report of an unconscious person and that homicide detectives were on scene. According to the outlet, investigators had not released any additional details as of Monday while they work through the basics of the case.

This latest discovery lands in the middle of a year where Houston-area bayous have already drawn uneasy attention from nearby residents.
