Downtown Bellevue is about to turn into one giant open-air gallery. From Friday through Sunday, Bellevue Arts Fair Weekend returns with more than 350 exhibiting artists spread across Bellevue Square and the NE 6th Street corridor. Organizers say the three-day festival will also pack in live music, family programming, food trucks and expanded evening concerts, cementing its spot as one of the Eastside’s marquee summer events.
What’s new this year
According to a press release by the Bellevue Arts Museum, this year introduces Living Traditions, a curated multicultural series that opens with “Japanese Art and Resilience in the Pacific Northwest.” A new mobile app is also rolling out to help visitors track artists, schedules and vendors without getting completely turned around in the crowds.
Organizers have boosted evening programming as well, with ticketed BAM Rooftop Rhythms concerts and the Sixth Street Sessions adding more nightlife to the weekend. “For 80 years, artists have been the heart of Bellevue Arts Fair Weekend,” BAM CEO-elect Cassandra Johnston said in the release, framing the new features as a way to spotlight that long history.
Activities, stages and family fun
Across the festival footprint, visitors can catch more than 20 live performances on community stages and seek out five public art activations. Families will find free hands-on projects for kids, ranging from chalk art to beginner-friendly DJ lessons.
The Bellevue Arts Fair site hosts an artist directory and a weekend map that lays out the two event zones along with the 15-plus artistic mediums represented. Food trucks and pop-up restaurant partners will line the NE 6th Street corridor, and organizers note that some after-hours shows will require tickets.
Sponsors, media partners and evening events
Major supporters this year include Amazon, The Bellevue Collection and 4Culture. Media partners listed by organizers include The Seattle Times, 425 Magazine, KNKX and local radio stations.
Festival producers credit those sponsorship and media partnerships with helping expand the 2026 programming, including the BAM rooftop concerts and the return of Fashion Friday, which pairs late-night fashion with music. The full sponsorship and media lineup is detailed in a joint release from BAM and the Bellevue Downtown Association.
Getting there and planning for crowds
Organizers and producers say the weekend could bring a very large crowd into downtown, so street closures and heavy traffic are likely. Attendees are encouraged to take transit, use rideshare services or park in downtown garages instead of circling for elusive curb space.
The City of Bellevue is posting event details and any traffic advisories on its online calendar and event listings to help people plan routes in advance. Festival organizers say the event app and website will include maps and live updates to navigate closures and parking throughout the weekend.
