The Community Grill, a Main Street fixture in downtown Frisco, quietly served its last plate on Sunday after nine years of scratch-made comfort food. Known for weekend brunch, jumbo wings and game-night bar crowds, the neighborhood hangout leaves behind an unexpectedly empty storefront in the heart of the city center.
As reported by Community Impact, the restaurant's current owners confirmed the shutdown in a Facebook post, writing, "We have loved being a part of many celebrations and milestones for our community." The outlet notes the decision to close was made for July 5 and that the eatery had cycled through several ownership groups over its nearly decade-long run.
What the grill served
The Community Grill billed itself as a family-friendly spot focused on scratch-made comfort food, from house sauces and soups to weekend brunch and bottomless mimosas, according to Visit Frisco. Customers frequently singled out the wings and burgers as standouts in reviews on local listings, per MapQuest.
Roots and ownership
The Community Grill first opened its doors on Dec. 17, 2017, according to an earlier report from Community Impact. Over the years, the business changed hands multiple times before the most recent ownership group announced the July closure.
