A Bexar County warrant operation ended with three arrests Thursday after deputies forced their way into a residence and evacuated nearby homes while clearing two rooms with less-lethal irritants. The operation ultimately involved five detentions before nearby residences were reopened.
Deputies were looking for wanted people at a residence in the 500 block of Acme Road, according to the sheriff's Facebook post. After receiving no response at the front door, deputies executed a search warrant, forced entry and detained three people inside.
Deputies Used Irritants In Two Rooms
The sheriff's office said nearby residences were evacuated for residents' safety while deputies worked inside the home. Deputies used less-lethal irritants in two separate rooms and detained two additional people after accessing both rooms through forced entry, bringing the total number of detentions to five.
Three People Arrested On Outstanding Warrants
The three people ultimately arrested were identified as 35-year-old Sulayma Garibay, 48-year-old Kyle Skinner and 35-year-old Sean Kirchiner. Garibay was arrested on a probation-violation warrant involving dangerous drugs; Skinner on a warrant alleging possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 or 1-B, one gram or more, enhanced; and Kirchiner on a terroristic-threats warrant, according to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.
Two Detainees Were Released
Two of the detained people were released after the operation, while the three named individuals were arrested. Nearby residences were later reopened to the public, and the sheriff's account did not provide bond amounts, court dates or additional details about what investigators were seeking at the home.
Warrant Arrests Do Not Establish Guilt
The arrests reflect allegations tied to outstanding warrants, not findings of guilt. Garibay, Skinner and Kirchiner are presumed innocent unless prosecutors prove the allegations in court, and it was not immediately clear whether additional charges would follow.
