Kissimmee police are investigating after a person was found dead behind a shopping center late Wednesday night, turning an ordinary weeknight into a crime scene behind one of the city’s busiest retail hubs.
Officers responded at about 10:49 p.m. to a call behind the Plaza del Sol mall and discovered the individual, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives remained at the location through the night while investigators processed the area and began piecing together what happened.
According to WFTV, officers confirmed the death after arriving on scene, and detectives stayed overnight as part of an active investigation. The Kissimmee Police Department has not released the victim's name or shared any details about the circumstances surrounding the death.
Scene And Local Context
Plaza del Sol is a sprawling retail center along West Vine Street, with discount anchors and dozens of smaller storefronts, according to Crossman & Company. The mall sits on a busy commercial strip, which means investigators must work carefully to preserve evidence while the area continues to draw shoppers and staff.
