A man was found dead near South Gate on Tuesday, and sheriff's homicide detectives now find themselves working a case with almost nothing they are ready to share publicly.

Investigators were called out shortly before noon to the 9600 block of Kalmia Street, where the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has not released the circumstances of the death or identified any possible suspect, and no description has been made public, according to MyNewsLA.

Detectives Ask For Tips As Death Investigation Continues

With details scarce, investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500, the number listed in the LASD phone directory. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or through lacrimestoppers.org.

This latest case comes on the heels of other fatal investigations in and around South Gate this year. In June, a 23-year-old man was fatally shot outside Auggie's Bar & Grill, CBS Los Angeles reported, while a separate April killing led to a person-of-interest detention. With no cause of death, motive or suspect description released Tuesday, it is too early to say whether this investigation is connected to either case.
