What to bring and absentee ballot rules
The state says early voters will be asked to present an acceptable photo ID, which can include a Michigan driver's license or state ID, a U.S. passport, military ID, an educational institution ID or tribal identification, according to the Michigan Department of State. Voters who show up without photo ID can still cast a ballot by signing an Affidavit of Voter Not in Possession of Picture Identification, under the same guidance.
