According to a notice on Franklin Barbecue, the restaurant has posted a "2026 Summer Break" message that reads, "The restaurant will be closed for our annual summer vacation: Monday, August 10 to Thursday, August 20th. We’ll reopen Friday, August 21st." The brief update frames the pause as a standard internal reset, a way to give the hard-working crew a real vacation after grinding through the hottest stretch of the year.

As reported by MySA, Franklin shared the news on social media and added, "Austin summers are no joke, and neither is the work our crew puts in day in and day out."
