A 42-year-old man is wanted in connection with allegations that he sexually abused six people across the Bronx over an eight-year span, with the youngest reported victim a 10-year-old boy. The NYPD is asking residents to help locate Stephen Charles as investigators review alleged incidents dating from January 1, 2018, through May 5, 2026.
According to News 12 Bronx, police say the alleged abuse occurred in various neighborhoods across the borough. The reported victims include boys ages 10, 11, 13 and 16, a 16-year-old girl, and an 18-year-old man.
The NYPD's public wanted-person guidance says the department relies on community tips to help locate people wanted in connection with crimes. The department says anonymous information can be submitted through Crime Stoppers, and tips may help prevent further criminal activity.
Registry Status Does Not Resolve Allegations
News 12 reported that Charles was not located on New York's public sex-offender registry. The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services explains that the registry covers people convicted of qualifying sex offenses, meaning an absence from the database does not by itself establish whether current allegations are true or false.

Anyone with information about Charles or the alleged incidents is urged to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The NYPD says callers can provide information anonymously.
