A 64-year-old man was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon after bullets tore through a home near North 95th Street and West Brown Deer Road on Milwaukee’s northwest side, turning an ordinary day into a crime scene in a matter of seconds. Authorities stayed on-site into the afternoon as investigators worked to figure out who pulled the trigger.
Milwaukee police told CBS 58 that the gunfire came through the residence at about 3:47 p.m., striking the 64-year-old inside. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, and officers fanned out through the neighborhood, looking for witnesses who might have seen or heard anything.
Area Has Seen Recent Violence
The 95th and Brown Deer corridor has already seen deadly violence this year. A June 1 fatal shooting in a nearby apartment lot highlighted the neighborhood’s ongoing struggles. Even so, city leaders told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that overall violent crime was trending downward in the first quarter of 2026, even as isolated shootings like this one continue to rattle residents.
