As reported by DC News Now, Chipotle confirmed plans for the Gainesville location and told the station it expects to “open its doors to customers in the next few weeks,” while stopping short of naming a specific opening day. Chipotle’s own store finder backs that up, listing 8148 Stonewall Shops Square as “Coming Soon” on the company’s site. Chipotle shows the new unit at that address as “Coming Soon,” and the chain’s careers page is already advertising positions tied to the same location, a clear sign the company is staffing up ahead of opening. Job postings on Chipotle include both crew roles and leadership positions.
Where the New Chipotle Will Sit
The Shops at Stonewall, located on Lee Highway, is a Wegmans-anchored retail complex that serves as a major shopping hub for western Prince William County. An area retail analysis notes that the center includes restaurant pads and has attracted national brands, which makes a Chipotle arrival feel almost inevitable. The center has acted as a retail anchor for the corridor since its development, according to Johns Hopkins University.
What This Means for Gainesville
Once the new restaurant opens, Gainesville will have at least two Chipotle locations. The company already lists a store at 5025 Wellington Road, so the added site should help spread out the lunch rush and dinner crowds.
