Central Florida families can turn the final stretch of summer into a zoo day without paying admission for children 12 and younger. The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens is offering the deal throughout August with the purchase of an adult ticket.

The promotion must be redeemed in person at the zoo’s front gate, and it cannot be combined with other offers, according to FOX 35 Orlando. Adult admission at the gate typically ranges from $26.95 to $28.95, while children ages 2 and younger already enter free.

What Central Florida families need to know

The zoo’s posted admission information lists summer hours from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and says parking is free, though the summer schedule currently runs through Aug. 9, according to the Central Florida Zoo. Families using the August offer should plan to buy their tickets at the front gate rather than relying on an online purchase.

The timing also gives visitors a chance to see some recent additions. The zoo houses more than 350 animals, including rhinos, cheetahs and snakes, and recently welcomed a pair of female giraffes, FOX 35 Orlando reports.
