Garfield Heights has quietly scored another industrial win. City officials say Cleveland Controls is relocating its operations to Highland Park and taking over the former MPAC facility, a move that keeps the old City View Center site in rewrite mode instead of letting it sit and rust.
In the city's release, officials said Cleveland Controls makes pressure switches, air proving devices and sensing technologies for HVAC, industrial and commercial equipment. The company's about page notes that its products are used worldwide in commercial, industrial and residential HVAC applications.
Highland Park Keeps Filling Out
The city's economic development materials describe Highland Park as a redevelopment of the former City View Center into an office and light-industrial park. That puts this relocation squarely in the middle of a longer-term effort to turn a giant vacant property into a steadier source of jobs and investment for Garfield Heights.
