A 55-year-old man died Wednesday after a vehicle struck him while he was riding a scooter on Cleveland’s East Side.
The crash happened at East 105th Street and Euclid Avenue, according to Cleveland.com. Cleveland EMS responded and paramedics transported the man to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where he later died; authorities had not released his identity.
Police Accident Investigators Are Reviewing The Collision
Cleveland police’s accident investigation unit is handling the case, officials said. The initial information did not include additional details about the vehicle, the driver or what led to the impact.
The fatal crash comes as safety concerns remain active around nearby University Circle. Ideastream Public Media reported in May that University Circle Inc. had counted 203 bike or pedestrian crashes in its service area since 2016 while developing a plan focused on safer public spaces and major routes including Euclid Avenue and East 105th Street.
