Tim Hortons is doubling down on Leander. The Canadian coffee chain is set to open two new shops in the city, with a Hero Way location targeting a soft opening on Aug. 15, 2026, and a grand opening in September. A second shop planned along Ronald Reagan Boulevard is also in the pipeline, although it does not yet have a firm launch date. The moves expand the brand’s Central Texas footprint after its first Austin-area store opened in December 2024.
According to Community Impact, a Tim Hortons representative confirmed the Aug. 15 soft opening and the planned September grand opening for the Hero Way shop, and said the Ronald Reagan site is moving forward without a set debut date. The outlet also notes that Tim Hortons already operates shops in Cedar Park and on the border between Austin and Round Rock, and is planning another location in Georgetown.
Where the shops will sit
The Hero Way store is slated to occupy a retail pad within the Shops at Hero Way development near the 183A corridor. The Ronald Reagan location is planned for a busy commercial stretch on Ronald Reagan Boulevard. Site plans and development documents list 1561 Hero Way as a planned retail parcel, while property listings identify 15513 Ronald Reagan Blvd. as active commercial space. Those records match the locations the company has flagged for its Leander expansion.

Leander has been busy widening Hero Way and upgrading Ronald Reagan Boulevard to keep pace with rapid population and retail growth. That roadwork is creating fresh pads for quick-service and drive-thru operators that are eager to catch commuter traffic. The city’s project page and related permitting notices outline the construction details, frontage-road plans and utility relocations that are opening the door to more commercial development, as documented on the City of Leander project page and in state permitting listings. Coupled with new subdivisions nearby, the improving corridors have turned into prime territory for franchise expansion.
What to expect
Once the doors open, customers can look for the chain’s usual lineup of coffee, iced drinks, breakfast sandwiches and Timbits, according to the Tim Hortons menu. The brand’s first Austin-area outpost, which debuted in Round Rock in December 2024, drew opening-day crowds and plenty of local attention. That launch was followed by additional openings and plans across Williamson County, suggesting these Leander shops may not be the last Central Texas entries.
