Universal Distribution, the international wholesaler that supplies comic shops and hobby retailers, is leveling up its Central Texas presence with a new warehouse and office at the growing Round Rock 45 industrial park. The company has a roughly 31,259-square-foot finish-out on the way, with construction set to start July 20 and wrap by late September, adding another logistics player to a fast-changing stretch of the SH 45 corridor in the North Austin suburbs.
Project Filing Lays Out Size, Cost And Timeline
According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, a project registered June 16 calls for a 31,259-square-foot renovation at Round Rock 45, Building 2, with an estimated price tag of $250,000. The filing shows construction scheduled to begin July 20 and conclude Sept. 21 and notes the work will add two offices and a storage room inside an existing spec suite.
What Universal Distribution Brings To Town
Per Universal Distribution, the company distributes comic books, trading cards, collectible toys and figurines, card games and board games, and its warehouses do not sell directly to consumers. The site also lists an existing Round Rock facility on Piccadilly Drive, which indicates this new lease will expand the company’s local logistics footprint rather than introduce a brand-new operation.
Round Rock’s SH 45 Corridor Keeps Heating Up
The finish-out is the latest sign of industrial momentum along State Highway 45 north of I-35, where developers have been lining up build-outs and small headquarters projects. Community Impact first spotted the Universal Distribution project on July 7, and local reporting has noted that other tenants are already taking space in the same new park.
The TDLR record also lists the building owner and design firm on file, a sign that the finish-out is moving through standard permitting steps. The filing does not include a public opening date for the new space.
