Police are searching for a woman they say assaulted a 64-year-old rider at the 86th Street station on Manhattan’s Lexington Avenue line on June 5, blocking her path off a train and punching her several times before taking off on another train.
According to investigators, the woman allegedly stood in the doorway as the victim tried to step off a northbound train, then hit her multiple times. The attack left the rider with a laceration near her right eye. She refused medical attention at the scene, police said.

As reported by amNewYork, the assault happened at about 8:20 a.m. on June 5 on the northbound 5 train platform at 86th Street. Investigators say the suspect blocked an exit, followed the victim onto the platform, and struck her several more times before boarding a 5 train and leaving the station northbound.
Suspect Description
The NYPD has released surveillance images and is asking the public to help identify the woman, according to the NYPD. Officers say she was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt with stars and the number “76” on the front, along with dark pants. Police say the victim sustained a laceration to her right eye but declined treatment at the scene.
