A son’s 911 call led deputies to a Cypress-area home Friday morning, where his parents, a married couple in their 70s, were found dead inside a bedroom. Investigators are treating the shooting as an apparent murder-suicide, though the case remains open.
According to Click2Houston, Harris County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Mike Ritchie said deputies and medical personnel responded after the man reported finding his parents at the home in the 13000 block of Campos Drive. Both were confirmed dead at the scene.
What Investigators Say Happened
Ritchie said preliminary evidence indicates the husband shot his wife before turning the weapon on himself. Authorities have not released the couple’s identities or described a possible motive in the initial report.
Crime scene investigators and homicide detectives remained at the residence while family members were interviewed and evidence was examined, the report noted. The investigation is ongoing, and officials have not announced any charges or additional findings.
