An 18-year-old Southeast D.C. man has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting near New York Avenue, where police found him unresponsive Tuesday night. No arrests had been announced as of Friday.
Darron Venable was found unconscious and not breathing after officers responded shortly after 10:30 p.m. to a reported shooting near New York Avenue NW and North Capitol Street NW, according to DC News Now. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and police temporarily closed both roads in the area while detectives investigated.
