
Gunfire rang out in north St. Louis early Wednesday, leaving a man wounded near the Columbus Square neighborhood and once again putting the area’s public safety worries in the spotlight.
Officers were called to the 200 block of Florida Street around 7 a.m., where they found a man who had been shot in the shoulder. Police say he was conscious and breathing when they arrived and that he was taken to a hospital for treatment.

According to the FOX 2 report, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said officers responded around 7 a.m. and located the victim with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The department told the station the man was "conscious and breathing" before being transported to a hospital.
