Federal agents descended on a Mid-Wilshire residence Tuesday morning, carrying out a drug-enforcement operation that ended with at least one person detained, according to neighborhood video and footage from the scene. A sizable tactical team, with uniformed agents, open vehicle trunks and what appeared to be an armored vehicle, lined the 400 block of South Wilton Place near Fourth Street.
According to ABC7, the DEA Los Angeles Field Division confirmed it "conducted a drug enforcement operation on 400 block of S. Wilton Place in Los Angeles, this morning," adding that "as this is an ongoing investigation, DEA will not be providing additional information at this time." An LAPD spokesperson told ABC7 the Los Angeles Police Department "was not aware of the operation."

Air7 aerials showed at least 15 agents in tactical gear clustered outside the multi-story home. Two agents spoke with a woman seated in a chair, while a shirtless man sat nearby with his hands bound in front of him with zip ties. "The trunks of two vehicles in the driveway were open, and an armored vehicle was parked on the street," ABC7's coverage said.
Not the first federal sweep
The Mid-Wilshire operation comes on the heels of larger DEA crackdowns earlier this year that targeted open-air fentanyl markets across Los Angeles. As reported by CBS Los Angeles, a multi-agency operation in the MacArthur Park area seized roughly 19 kilograms of fentanyl and resulted in numerous arrests.

The DEA said it would not release further details while the investigation remains active, and as of Tuesday there were no public records showing charges or federal filings tied to the Mid-Wilshire action. Federal prosecutions and charging documents often take days to weeks to surface in court dockets as evidence is reviewed.
