An early-morning burst of gunfire in Parkville left one person dead, Baltimore County police say. Officers rushed to the 8500 block of Chestnut Oak Road around 1 a.m. after getting calls about shots in the area, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to WMAR-2 News, responding officers found an unidentified person suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Police say the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Baltimore County police at 410-887-3700.

Neighbors say this latest killing lands in the middle of a troubling run of gun violence in and around Parkville that has already put many residents on edge. Detectives say they will share more when they can and urge residents to hold off on speculation while they work to piece together what happened overnight on Chestnut Oak Road.
