A quiet Sunday morning in Hempfield Township turned tragic when a 19-year-old Greensburg man died after his motorcycle crashed along Route 819, according to local officials. Authorities identified the rider as Lam V. Duong.
Duong was killed at the intersection of Route 819 and St. Clair Avenue after he failed to navigate a right-hand curve, ran off the roadway into a ditch and struck a boulder, the Westmoreland County coroner reported. He had been riding a 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 500 southbound when he was thrown from the bike. Duong was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead at about 9:45 a.m., with blunt force injuries listed as the cause of death. Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash, according to CBS Pittsburgh.
