A Delafield restaurateur is facing two fourth-degree sexual assault charges after police investigated allegations that he touched employees without consent during Belfrē Kitchen’s grand reopening in June. The accusations have now put a local restaurant group’s owner on the path to a court appearance next month.
The accused is 49-year-old Llazar Konda, who owns Belfrē Kitchen and several other Lake Country restaurants. According to Greater Milwaukee Today, Konda was charged with two counts after a woman in her early 20s reported an incident to Delafield police on June 15.
The complaint says the alleged incidents occurred during Belfrē Kitchen’s June 12 grand reopening. One co-worker reportedly told police that Konda put his hand in a woman’s back pocket and rubbed her butt for about 10 seconds, while another employee said Konda touched her indecently on the butt.
The filing also alleges that Konda grabbed one woman’s bra strap and lifted it away from her body while asking, “What’s going on here?” In another reported interaction, he allegedly wrapped an arm around a woman and called her “so cute.”
A manager told investigators she believed the employees’ reports and said she had previously seen Konda act “touchy/feely” with other women, according to the complaint. The manager later resigned, and at least two other employees reportedly quit after witnessing or experiencing the alleged behavior.
Konda Had Just Taken Over Belfrē Kitchen
The allegations came shortly after Konda took ownership of the Delafield restaurant. City of Delafield minutes from May show Konda appearing before the Common Council as the new owner and liquor-license agent for Belfrē Kitchen, which had temporarily closed before the transition.
The city record identifies Belfrē Kitchen at 606 N. Genesee St. and says Konda told council members there would be no major operational changes, aside from possible menu adjustments. Belfrē’s own website describes the restaurant as part of the Llazar Konda Restaurant Group.
Charges And Next Court Date
Wisconsin’s fourth-degree sexual assault statute covers sexual contact without consent, according to the Wisconsin State Law Library. The charge is a misdemeanor; Greater Milwaukee Today reports that each count carries a possible sentence of up to nine months in jail.
Konda was ordered to appear in court on Aug. 20, 2026. The charges are allegations, and a criminal complaint is not a finding of guilt.
