Detroit police swarmed a west-side neighborhood early today after a possible shots-fired report, concentrating their response around two homes near Dexter. At least one person was briefly taken into custody and then released as the scene remained active.
The police presence began around 1 a.m. in the 3800 block of Humphery Street, just west of Dexter, according to CBS Detroit. Officers appeared to be focused on two houses, although the initial report did not identify a confirmed shooting, injuries or a specific suspect.
Police Have Not Explained What Triggered The Response
Details remained limited this morning, including whether anyone else was arrested or whether the scene was close to clearing. The person reportedly taken into custody was released soon afterward, but authorities had not publicly explained why the large police presence continued.
