Federal agents say they uncovered more than 100 files of child sexual abuse material during a search of the Mechanicsburg-area home of former Pennsylvania state representative Jesse White, according to federal court records. White was arrested this week and now faces federal child-pornography charges tied to electronic devices seized during the raid.
The affidavit states that FBI agents executed a federal search warrant at White’s Mechanicsburg residence and seized multiple computers and external hard drives. Investigators say at least 100 files appeared to show sexually explicit images and videos of minors, with children estimated to be roughly between 7 and 15 years old, as outlined by WHP.
The investigation began after images were flagged by Google and submitted through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s CyberTipline. Court papers say two separate tips linked suspected content back to a phone associated with White, according to Observer-Reporter, which reviewed the federal filings.
During interviews with agents, White allegedly admitted using the Tor browser and Telegram to access dark-web sites and look for what he called “inappropriate content.” When pressed, he acknowledged the material was child pornography, according to reporting. Daily Voice notes that agents say they found files organized by category on at least one seized hard drive, with some folders labeled by children’s ages.
White previously represented the 46th District, which covers parts of Allegheny, Beaver and Washington counties, in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2007 through 2014, according to the Pennsylvania House Archives. His law license was later revoked after disciplinary authorities said he misappropriated client funds, a disbarment that was reported by The Almanac.

Federal child-pornography statutes carry heavy potential prison time. Under 18 U.S.C. § 2252A, many receipt or distribution offenses carry mandatory minimum sentences that are often five years, with higher terms when prepubescent victims are involved or when a defendant has prior qualifying convictions, according to LII / Cornell Law. How prosecutors choose to charge the case, and whether they pursue counts that trigger enhanced penalties, will determine White’s potential exposure if he is indicted and ultimately convicted.

White was expected to appear in federal court for a detention hearing this week. A Department of Justice spokeswoman confirmed his identity but declined further comment, and his federal public defender did not immediately return a request for comment, Observer-Reporter reports. Any additional charging documents, including a formal indictment if one is filed, will appear in the federal court docket as the case moves forward.
