The team behind Tampa spots Rocca and Bar Terroir is sliding its lively, market-style taco operation into the ground floor on Cleveland Street, marking Streetlight Taco’s first move beyond South Tampa and adding another buzzworthy name to a changing corridor.
According to today's press release from the Cleveland Street Alliance, Streetlight Taco is set to take over the signature street-facing space at 432 Cleveland Street. That prominent corner is where the restored Peoples Bank clock and façade were unveiled to the public over the weekend. The announcement casts Streetlight Taco as the building’s ground-floor dining anchor and underscores the structure’s return to active downtown use. The release also notes that the reopening festivities drew thousands of people to the intersection for the completion celebration.
Streetlight Taco picked up a Bib Gourmand from the MICHELIN Guide shortly after debuting in South Tampa in January 2024, an honor reserved for spots serving quality food at a solid value. The MICHELIN write-up, along with local coverage, points out that the kitchen mills heirloom corn in-house for its masa and centers the menu on tacos, tostadas and mercado-style sides rather than a formal tasting-menu format.
