A quiet Saturday afternoon near downtown Orlando turned tense when a two-story house in the 600 block of E. Concord Street caught fire, sending heavy smoke through the Lake Eola Heights area. The people inside had already evacuated before firefighters arrived, and officials said no injuries were reported. Crews put out the blaze and kept flames from spreading to neighboring buildings.
Firefighters Knock Down Two-Alarm Blaze
The Orlando Fire Department responded to a two-alarm house fire and found the two-story residence fully involved when crews reached the scene. Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack and knocked the flames down quickly, according to ClickOrlando. After bringing the fire under control, crews declared it out and worked to secure the scene.
Occupants Safe, Cause Still Under Investigation
All occupants had escaped before firefighters arrived and no injuries were reported, officials told WFTV. Investigators had not yet released a cause for the blaze at the time of that report.
The 600 block of E. Concord sits a short walk east of Lake Eola Park, in a stretch of older single-family homes and small multiunit buildings near downtown. Streets near the scene were temporarily affected while crews worked.
Both ClickOrlando and WFTV carried video and statements from the Orlando Fire Department about the response. Officials had not released damage estimates or a cause at the time those outlets reported.
