Officers and emergency medical personnel tried life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the car had at least two bullet holes. According to WTAE, Pittsburgh police found the male driver with a gunshot wound to the head, and officers rendered aid before medics pronounced him deceased. Investigators documented two gunshot holes in the vehicle at the Chartiers Avenue and Municipal Street intersection. Detectives have not identified any suspects, and the victim's identity has not been released, according to the report.

The shooting is the latest violent incident in Sheraden. The Post-Gazette reported a June 10 fatal shooting on Pritchard Street that also brought a heavy police response. Local reporting has noted multiple shooting incidents in the West End neighborhood in recent months.
