Drury Hotels is officially stepping into the Daytona hospitality race. The company has broken ground on a 180-room Drury Plaza Hotel near Daytona International Speedway, its first property in Volusia County. The seven-story hotel will rise along International Speedway Boulevard and is already taking reservations for summer 2027. Developers say the project brings construction work now and roughly 50 hospitality jobs once doors open.

Rooms, amenities and jobs
Plans call for more than 2,000 square feet of meeting space, an outdoor pool, a fitness center and the brand's signature free hot breakfast and evening "5:30 Kickback" service. Drury expects to hire about 50 full- and part-time team members when the hotel opens, and the meeting facilities are designed to host up to 200 attendees, Hotel Management reports. "We are proud to join the community in one of Florida's most iconic destinations with our newest hotel," Chuck Drury said in a statement, according to Hotel Management.
Permits and the site’s paper trail
City planning records show Drury Development Corporation requested rezoning of about 4.6 acres at 2600 and 2610 West International Speedway Boulevard from Tourist/Highway Interchange to Planned Development-General under case DEV2025-066, according to City of Daytona Beach documents. That approval cleared the way for the hotel to move from planning into full construction staging.

The Drury project lands in the middle of a broader wave of national-brand hotel and retail development across Volusia County this year, from new Residence Inn builds to corridor-focused projects that local reporters say are reshaping areas like LPGA Boulevard, as noted by the Orlando Business Journal. Construction crews are now active on the site, and Drury's booking page lists rooms available starting June 1, 2027. The company says it will begin recruiting locally as construction moves ahead, according to Drury Hotels. If timelines hold, the hotel will be online in time for peak summer travel and major motorsports events in 2027.
