A late-night vehicle fire on Flint’s East Piper Street ended in tragedy Friday when firefighters discovered a man dead inside the burned car, according to police.
The blaze broke out on the 200 block of East Piper late Friday. City firefighters put out the flames and then found the victim inside the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are withholding his name until they can make a positive identification and notify his family.
First responders were dispatched around 11:18 p.m., according to WNEM, which reported the details came from a Flint Police Department spokesperson. The case remains under investigation, and officers have not said publicly whether they suspect foul play.
Police ask the public for tips
