A late-night house party in Fallston turned tragic early Sunday when gunfire erupted in front of roughly 100 people, killing one attendee and leaving another fighting for his life. Harford County deputies were called shortly after midnight to the 2300 block of Willow Vale Drive, where they found a 34-year-old man who was flown to a trauma center in critical condition. A 23-year-old partygoer was separately taken to a hospital and later died.
What officials say
According to the Harford County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrived to a chaotic scene at the home and located a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies started lifesaving efforts on the victim before he was airlifted to a local trauma facility, the agency said.
Another victim, a 23-year-old man from Windsor Mill who had been attending the party, was driven from the scene to a nearby hospital by other guests and later died, according to WBAL. Media reports say investigators believe the shooting was confined to people at the gathering and that there is no ongoing threat to neighbors. No arrests have been announced and authorities have not released any suspect description.
Authorities seeking witnesses
Detectives are asking anyone who was at the party, or who has photos or videos from the night of the shooting, to come forward and contact Detective Thumma at 443-567-7201, according to a release from the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Officials say they plan to share more details as the investigation moves forward.
Local context
The Fallston shooting is the latest high-profile case this year to draw a heavy response from Harford County deputies, following a double-shooting in Edgewood earlier in the spring, local outlets reported. Investigators are working to sort out a motive and establish a clear timeline of what happened and have again urged anyone with information to contact them so they can piece the night together, according to WMAR.
