Federal Way police are asking for the public’s help to track down a man who officers say blindsided an older man in a Pacific Highway South parking lot in May, knocking him out cold. The victim was struck from behind, lost consciousness and was later treated for his injuries, according to authorities.
Detectives told FOX 13 Seattle that the confrontation started as an argument between two men in a parking lot on Pacific Hwy S just north of S Dash Point Rd. After the exchange, the older man walked toward a nearby building to call an elevator. While his back was turned, the suspect allegedly came up from behind and punched him in the face, leaving him unconscious. Police say the attacker then took off in a silver Jeep Compass.
Police ask witnesses to step forward
The Federal Way Police Department is urging anyone who saw what happened or who has dashcam footage from the area to call its police business line at (253) 835-6700, as listed on the department's website. Officials note that 911 is for emergencies, and that non-emergencies and tips can be passed along to detectives through the business line, according to the City of Federal Way Police Department.
