Neighbors in Louisville’s Jacobs neighborhood were jolted Thursday night when a car barreled into an apartment building, sparked a fire, and left more than a dozen residents suddenly without a place to sleep. Thirteen adults and one child were displaced, as reported by WAVE, and crews treated one person on scene for minor injuries before the night was over.
According to WLKY, the crash happened July 23 in the 3500 block of Georgetown Place. The vehicle caught fire and became fully engulfed, blocking the building’s entrance as flames shot up and smoke filled the area. Firefighters knocked the fire down and kept it contained to the main building, bringing it under control in about 20 minutes, then searched the complex and confirmed no one was inside.
