Fire crews in southeast Denver quickly knocked down a structure fire early Friday near East Evans Avenue and South Corona Street, according to the Denver Fire Department. Firefighters contained the blaze before it could spread to nearby homes and stayed on scene to overhaul the building. The department did not report any injuries in its initial post.

Crews reported the fire under control, then moved into overhaul work to chase down remaining hot spots. The department also publicly thanked responding personnel and neighbors who steered clear of the scene while firefighters operated.
